Musical Instrument Museum of the State Institute for Music Research
Musical Instrument Museum of the State Institute for Music Research
The State Institute for Music Research is the largest non-university research center for musicology in Germany. It is both a place for historical and theoretical reflection as well as a vibrant medium for dissemination. For this purpose, the institute has an ideal forum with its Musical Instrument Museum, which hosts a variety of events: from scientific symposia to conversation concerts featuring early music on historical instruments from the collection, to interactive sound installations.
Visit to the Musical Instrument Museum with a collection of over 800 instruments from five centuries, a digital museum guide with sound examples and interactive stations for hands-on experience.
