Museum in der Kulturbrauerei
The exhibition 'Everyday Life in the GDR' showcases the lives of people in the GDR during the 1970s and 1980s at work, in public, and in private. It shows how the SED regime shapes everyday life, how people cope with shortages and limitations, and where they find areas of freedom. You can take a seat in a pub, in a living room, or at a workbench and learn more about leisure and improvisation, housing construction, or work life in the GDR.
The exhibition is complemented by changing special exhibitions on contemporary history and an attractive event program of readings, discussions, family days, and much more.
